You have decided to build a boat storage because many communities will not allow on street storage of boats or larger RV’s. What kind of storage are you considering? There are several different ones including:

- Totally enclosed with heat and climate controlled
- Security
Take note that the third, fourth, and fifth ones, you will have to have bigger footings because of the many different boat sizes and stronger structural sides and such to withstand high winds. You may need to make them bigger than normal because of all the additions many people have on their boats and RV’s now. Like the awnings, air conditioner, tow racks, and other items like this.
You will have to consider having security as well. This could cost you anywhere from $500 to over $1 million dollars. You must remember you have someone’s private property and they treasure it, so you must consider that as well. Therefore, security is most important. You may have to put up a perimeter fence. This could be either chain link with razor wire to solid block walls. Security cameras and key-coded entry is a must have. There is a lot to building your own as you can see.
