Owning a boat is the number one recreation of many people these days and having a place to store it isn’t as easy as putting your golf clubs up in the garage. Marinas have been wet docking boats for people and they now use them just like a cabin or cottage to live in. This is only in climates that the water does not freeze. Marinas now offer many things if you are considering living on it, including:

- Water hook ups
- Telephone service
- Cheaper rates if occupied
- Security
- Inside heated storage units, more expensive though
If you do not want to live on your boat then many of the marinas offer full winterization like shrink wrapping your boat for you. Whatever storage you decide make sure your boat can breathe with whatever cover you decide on to prevent mildew and mold.
